What is Something Worth?
Only what someone is prepared to pay for it at one moment in time, apparently! And I think that’s the only judgement call to be made.
Judge approves $1.3bn Lehman deal
Summary: In a ruling yesterday, Leyman’s, the bank with a problem of confidence, has been flogged for $1,300,000,000 to Barclay’s Bank, the bank with an historical problem with honesty, honour and trust in Africa.
This is $1.3 billion.
Apparently, the company “handles accounts” “worth” $138 billion, that is $138,000,000,000 in real money.
So is that it’s “worth”?
Only what someone is prepared to pay for it at one moment in time, apparently! And I think that’s the only judgement call to be made.
ed: The word “worth” seems to be reverting to it’s Olde English derivation now – not some infantile game of brinkmanship and double-dealing.
