Associated Press’ (AP) disappearing links give me work!
Right! That’s it! I’m fed up with fixing linkrot!
I’ve become aware that any AP links I use as reference for any commentary I make, disappear after a few weeks! I wasn’t aware of the fact until recently. It must be the way I research nowadays. But obviously, I made an assumption that was without substance.
But all is not lost – AP is syndicated to most news organisations, so any article is copied verbatim giving the original journalist a bit extra dosh, I suppose.
Now, I change all the AP links to a mainstream news outlet that keeps visible archives for a while. This is sad, as I’d like to use the original source for reference, rather than second hand.
But hey!
