Excellent study this evening given by Howard and Alex. There was a lot from Nichiren, The Heritage of the Ultimate Law of Life , which was good as they were saying exactly the same stuff as I did when I spent a day getting my Buddhism Page out and to make sense to me. Plus Howard said that he’s spent a lot of time pondering the mentor-disciple issue and that it’s starting to make a lot more sense to him now, which he transmitted clearly to the members. This is especially hard for us having been brought up in a society suffused in Abraham-type religions ethics of guilt, heaven and hell and the closeted British group mentality which makes it difficult to better oneself without peer criticisms.
