This piece, contains an astonishing account in some detail of a near disaster from the three aircrew’s standpoint. If you have the slightest trace of empathy or imagination, this account will have you riveted to the screen, marvelling at the cool-headedness of the three guys as they struggle to learn to fly an air airplane without flight surface controls. They did this without (apparently) panicking as the whole adventure takes half an hour in time, a 20 mile plus detour and two attempts at landing in a cross wind, finally coming to rest in a minefield. You can’t make it up!

When I fly next, I want to be in an Airbus 300 flown by those men. This wiki page has a wiki view on the incident.
