On a theme of Thomas Tallis by Ralph Vaugh Williams. I’ve been especially attached to this tune since I was 13 when I heard it at a neighbours house and asked to borrow their LP (this was a big deal then). They had to ask for it back – I would’ve kept it!
The recorded version is better than this I think, this doesn’t have quite the same dynamics or feel. However, the chords at the beginning rate “astounding” in my book, and it’s good in parts.
