I’m sure there’s a joke about false pearls… Good news about the internet access – you’ll be able to get some proper work done now.

As for the photos; that’s the NextGEN Gallery plugin which you already have in your blog, you just need to activate it.
What I do is resize & rename a group of photos using Irfanview in batch mode. I set all the photos to be a max dimension of 800 pixels and save with ~85% compression as jpegs. This means the max size of a photo is about 100k. This way they upload fairly fast and are easily viewable on-screen.
Then upload into a new NextGen Gallery.
Add some tags and descriptions if appropriate.

The gallery is then added to the post or page using a simple tag from the toolbar icon. The bottom one shows as:
[slideshow id=22]
If I wanted a thumnail picture list I’d use:
[nggallery id=22]

It’s quite neat once you get the hang of it. The interface and usability has improved a lot over the past year.

wow how d’ya get yr photos to do that! I’m in a hotel WITH INTERNET and it’s FREE!!!!!! Who could beieve my luck!!!!! It is beautiful here and what’s more there’s a local Buddhist I met in Wien so will give her a call soon. Just arrived and bought some false pearls, they’re great.
