The latest to say 'sorry', of a sort anyway, is the former home secretary Wacky Backy Jacqui Smith who said sorry for her husband watching videos etc but somehow couldn't make it as far as saying her home arrangements were morally un-justified. As he says, in any normal sphere of work, you'd have to repay the dosh (>£100k in her case) and probably get hauled up in front of the judge. As he says, and the whole point of this original post defines this, saying sorry isn't enough. You have to be absolutely in the moral right, not floating in some wishy-washy half-way house of self-justification.
