Seriously though, there does seem to be an underlying malaise that needs expunging from the national psyche – and it all comes from the unwillingness to admit that anything bad ever happened or that anyone had anything to do with it.
Saying this, I was very impressed by the coppers in charge of the case on the TV last night. They seemed totally on the ball, much like you’d expect any good professional to be in any country.
It’s probably something to do with the copper’s lot of being continuously exposed to the darker side of life. Because of this, there is no way for them to hide from reality – and that perhaps, is the key for the whole country.
