One of my sites, Crawling Chaos, built on WordPress, has had a lot of simple comment spam in recent weeks – when I say a lot, I mean two or three a day, which isn’t much, but it used to be virtually zero so this lot have found a small way to wheedle past my defences.

Nearly always it appears to be from someone selling electric water heaters, I kid ye not!  And the text, usually misspelt, reads either

Cool site webmaster, thanks.

or

Amazine(sic) site
Thanks, webmaster.

For now I just look and delete.  I’m seeing if there’s more trend to it before seriously actioning it.
