What do you call a man with a seagull on his head? Cliff.

What do you call a man with a shovel in his head? Doug.

What do you call a man in the sea with no arms and no legs? Bob.

What do you call a fisherman’s wife? Annette.

What do you call a man in a bed of dry leaves? Russell.

A man walks into a bar. Ouch.

A thousand blondes walk into a bar. You’d think one of them would’ve noticed.

A white horse walks into a bar and says to the barman: “I’ll have a whisky please, mate.” The barman says: “I suppose you’ll want the one with your name on it?” To which the horse replies: “What, Ed?”

A man walks into a bar with a giraffe and orders a few drinks. He orders more and more drinks for himself and the giraffe until the thing finally passes out. The man looks at, laughs, and heads out of the bar. Before he gets to the door, the barman shouts out: “Oi mate! You can’t leave that lyin’ there!” The man turns round, looks from the barman to the giraffe and back and shouts: “It’s not a lion! It’s a giraffe!”

WordPress 2.3 Upgrade successful

Strangely post on September 30th, 2007

I used the WordPress Automatic Upgrade plugin to do the update and upgrade. Everything appears to be working fine on the blog for the user except I’ve got some coding appearing in the “write” window (where I’m typing now). I’m pretty sure it’s a shopping plugin that I mean to test out. When I’ve sorted this, (by removing it probably) then I’ll do the other sites.

The code is:

WordPress database error: [Table '****.spwp_post2cat' doesn't exist]
SELECT cat_ID AS ID, MAX(post_modified) AS last_mod FROM `spwp_posts` p LEFT JOIN `spwp_post2cat` pc ON p.ID = pc.post_id LEFT JOIN `spwp_categories` c ON pc.category_id = c.cat_ID WHERE post_status = 'publish' GROUP BY cat_ID

Some of the tables in the SQL joins I know are on the list of removed tables & fields. The page position leads me to suspect a plugin. Watch this space…

WordPress 2.3 is out

It’s time to do an update again. This one has some substantial database changes so I’ll have to be careful! If the site is still up in a day then you’ll know it’s taken.

Fuel Tax Rises

Strangely post on September 28th, 2007

Well said Amanda Lightfoot at Petrol Prices Blog

I subscribe to the petrol prices updates with the idea that why pay more than you have to for petrol. However, the pathetic attempt at a “vote” to pay more tax, yes or no, is just plain rabble rousing and shows that Brendan McLoughlin has mixed motives behind his sites. Which is a shame as since the fuel tax is the same, it hammers down onto the retailing slice of the price.

As an example, I suggest Mr McLoughlin has a nice shiny 4×4 that he uses to drive round town etc. Mysteriously, this article discussing the relative merits of differential road tax on different vehicle classes does NOT have a “vote” button whereas virtually ALL the other “chats” in his blog do.
