Cracked – a reprise, (hacked off)

I’ve just got round to showing the damage done to my site(s) by the two cracks into my WordPress installation. It’s seems like there is a sort of saleman’s club in turk_h.org where they have statistics and charts of “top cracker of the month”.

The Cobra_21 person had over 6000 when they got round to my site(s). Fuck knows what it is now.

Anyway, I’ve chipped their work so it’s not dangerous and so that it exists when they do not(but I haven’t stuck my version up yet as theirs was framed and I can’t be bothered to unframe the code). In reverse order we have the “Turkish Marchers”, clumpity-clumpity-clump followed by the first hack on me by the peaceful muslims. mmm…

This is a link to the site with a shot that may not exist for long:

Just so everyone knows the difference, and these are peas, and this is the first hack devoted to peace and appeared like this …on the strangely site.

So that’s alright then…

It may be that all this music and language means something but I haven’t got time to learn. The arabic bit means muhhamed, I think. Apart from that, overuse of red in any form of advertising only means one thing. Especially when you chuck a bit of black with it.

Nazi Red and Black

Nazi Red and Black

It all sounds rather nationalistic and terribly sad. My views on:

  • oligarchs,
  • despots hiding behind religion,
  • religious leaders hiding behind nationalism,
  • nationalists hiding behind the uneducated ignorance of the masses,
  • the rise of the nation state over the last few hundred years as an excuse for progress,

……..are all the same. The result is that my face is contorted in the expression you’d have if a lump of dog shit was on your top lip.

I must apologize to ZZZ Bloke that gets referred to occasionally. The trouble is that I can’t remember your name even though I (Strangely) spoke to you a thousand times when Crawling Chaos was whizzing.

So there. Done.

Wyld’s Road – near miss

This is the text of a message I’ve posted to National Express this morning regarding a near squashing experience I endured in Bridgwater just after half nine this morning.

Hi.
I’ve been forced to use this system as there doesn’t appear to be a local telephone number to use.
While cycling to work today, I was forced to stop and nearly crashed due to thoughtless driving by the driver of the National Express number 938 bus in Bridgwater at about 09:40 this morning, travelling northwards along Wyld’s Road towards Bristol. Because of this an articulated lorry following had to brake sharply to avoid me (fortunately for me).
This occurred when the bus driver decided to overtake me on a blind right hand bend. You can see this bend here where Wylds Road approaches it’s junction with Bristol Road. I was travelling in my normal riding position, 2 feet from the kerb at about 19mph. Bizarrely, the driver had had plenty of time to overtake me on the straight bit of Wylds Road previously – but didn’t, even though the road was clear to do so.
I only just managed to brake and avoid being crushed by the back wheel when the driver decided to cut in left too soon when they realised the dangerousness of the bend. Presumably, it’s better to squash a pedestrian or cyclist rather than dint the front of a bus with a 20mph collision with an oncoming vehicle?

I would like to know what you intend to do about it? Please do not give me platitudes about the special conditions that the drivers of large vehicles have to endure and the training they’ve had, etc etc. I work in transport and I previously drove most types of articulated lorries for 10 years in all sorts of conditions and locations and still keep my C+E licence updated. I have had commendations for safe driving and despite the obstacles and hazards endured on the roads, I never ever came as close to squashing someone as that person did to me today.

I’ll obviously post any replies I get. To say I was a bit fired up after my near-death experience would be an understatement.

This tune’s been in my head all day

…so I looked it up and bizarrely, it IS on youtube with some sort of a video.

It’s Mick Ronson doing “The Empty Bed” from his LP “Play, Don’t Worry”. Without checking the sleeve, I think it’s a cover of an Italian or Spanish dudes tune, or possibly Greek. Certainly Mediterranean. I think. Probably. Or French. Which backs onto the Med. A bit.

…so sorry for the video. But it’s an excellent tune.

..er. This, I’ve found, is one of the original composers doing it.

http://youtube.com/watch?v=4kKk-cjL5wM Mick Ronson’s version has the credits as follows: (Baglioni/Goggio/Ronson). So that’s that then.

When it came out we used to snigger because Ronson was trying to be all glam and serious after Bowie ditched his Spiders period, so it sort of looked a bit forced and stupid especially when you knew his accent was as northern as ours (i.e. me, Jeff and Keith).

Listening now, after it popped into my head today, (why – I dunno! I only live in it), it’s a minor masterpiece, played and sung with real finesse. He just was out of step with the times – which I can personally relate to.
