Prime Minister and Expenses

Too Little, Too Late, Gordon Brown

This morning, PM Gordon Brown told Andrew Marr that he wants to ‘clean up’ parliament.
He wants a ‘code of conduct’ for MPs to follow.
The thing is, there’s already a code of conduct – it’s called the law!

All we,  ‘the people’ want, is to have reasonable laws and for people to follow them, equally.

Special Privileges

Gordon BrownMembers of Parliament are special. They have special responsibilities. In a nutshell, they represent us in the speaking house, the parler-a-ment. This simple fact makes them special. Within the speaking house they are allowed to say quite derogatory things about each other which in the outside world could be libellous. But this is the nature of the game. This is the special status that exists in Parliament for our representatives so that they can speak without fear or hindrance.

This simple freedom seems to have been forgotten.

Maelstrom

Maelstrom

Now they must all watch what they say, toe the party line, think of the future and their reputations…… Big Brother watches everything.

Now they think that they need extra-special status and self-justifiably grab whatever beneifits and remunerations they ‘think’ they are due.

This is the show we have now stumbled upon; evading tax, feathered nests and the nepotic practices of a third rate African despot, that is.

Greed

From left to right of the ruling classes, they’re greedily identical. Depending on how much wealth they currently have, their aspirations to further wealth naturally vary – but the greed in their minds is the same.

Shocked

The PM Gordon Brown has said he’s appalled and shocked by the revelations – despite being one of the ringleaders during the information-blocking process!   Now, in a further devious twist, in the interview, he’s not-so-subtly trying to shift the focus away from MPs again!

He just can’t stop it, can he?   He’s in total denial and his brain is in action debt!  Fiddle, fiddle,  fiddle.  Hide, hide, hide.

So yet another ‘code of conduct’ is supposed to be the panacea!   It’s just staggering ineptitude and a total denial of the events in recent financial history where our money systems, all obeying a ‘code of conduct’, all visibly folded. And he wants more of the same?

He says that he,

“…wants a clean-up of all public institutions – such as the NHS and the BBC”

This is the “smoke and mirrors” distraction, which could be all well and good, especially in the champagne-bottle-strewn corridors of the BBC.  Unfortunately for Brown, these institutions are already ‘code of conduct’-ed to the gunwales!

We need a Code of Conduct Czar we’ve got so many!  Call it OfCodeOfConduct!  OfCon for short, with the emphasis on Con.

NHS?

All changes since 1997 have been a Brown/Blair initiative. This means it’s their idea and their fault.  He can’t pass the buck!

Like MPs expenses, the power for change is as directly in his hands now as it always has been, and it’s disingenuous to shift blame again. He’s Prime Minister for fuck’s sake! If he can’t do it, what’s he for?

In fact, it reveals the depths of psychotic deception to which our leader, Gordon Brown, will plummet in a vain quest to change Britain (to what?) before the axe falls on him. He’s frantically grasping at straws, trying to stay afloat in the maelstrom of his own creation and management.

This psychosis means that all his good works (and to be fair, there have been many); minimum wage, better family allowances, better health service, 12 week operation wait, new hospitals, better child care, rail electrification etcthey are all as nought.

  • They’ve been completely cancelled out by the institutionalised corrupt practices at all levels of society under his watch.
  • Most will inevitably be rolled back by some future government, disguised as part of a ‘wider process of reform’, as they’ll say.

And if this future government is a bunch of Nazis then we’re in big do-dos.

Because the bad things that Brown & Blair have started – e.g.

  • the police state
  • surveillance everywhere
  • shoot to kill
  • war on terror
  • arrest and detention without trial for indefinite periods
  • torture
  • kidnapping
  • lies to further a war
  • massive reliance on databases and their subsequent loss!

…many of these won’t be rolled back. It’s that chip-chip away at freedom. Eventually when it’s all gone, then there’ll be a realisation. And if we don’t fall into the Maelstrom, there’ll be a bloodbath in it’s place…

What Must be Done?

Simple really.

  • Sack people who are incompetent with minimum compensation.    This means No Payment For Failure.  Make sure that this applies to politicians and all hitherto cushioned leaders, business or otherwise.  It’s what 99% of the population have to endure.  Enforce this by passage of a “Corrupt Payments and Bonus Law”.
  • Pass a law to retrospectively get money off the corrupt and incompetant bankers.  This is what we’d do in the fight against organised crime.  It’s what we do against dole-scroungers who’ve abused the system.   This is what we do against tax-evaders.   It’s the same thing – Just do it!
  • No more Codes of Conduct.  Make proper, morally clear, enforceable law.
  • An end to all priviledge.  Equal treatment under the law and one law for everyone.
  • Use the army to get our money back from Tax Havens.  Give them something useful to do instead of propping up heroin production in Afghanistan…  It’s our money that’s been siphoned off – go and get it.   We won’t need an ‘International Banking Code of Conduct’ for the future.  I mean, what would little Cayman, Bermuda and Lichenstein really do if a troop from Norton Manor Camp pull up at the front door of the ****** Bank Of ***** and ask for all our money back?  If the army can’t do that and protect the wealth of our nation, then retire them.

Robert G Allen, Grants, and a Credit Card Slimeball

Introduction

This is a small investigation into mail lists and scammy companies.  Some companies are fine, but I always go by the adage to judge a man by the company he keeps.  This shows how lists spread far beyond their initial purpose when you sign up for something.  It also shows how the privacy policies of these marketting websites are just words wrapped in fluff.

Robert G Allen runs ‘courses’ and is highly public in his utterances.  His website is http://web.archive.org/web/20090106001934/http://robertallenmedia.com/

Robert G AllenHere you’ll find the chubby faced entrepreneur open and engaging, and in common with all such sites, remarkably thin in actual methods used despite the vast amount of time extolling their virtues.  They will always say it’s “to protect our secrets” etc.

Funnily enough, when EasyJet was started by Stelios Haji-Ioannou, I remember him going on national telly and saying “I’m starting a new airline – we are different because we are cheap and there are no frills” and it didn’t do him any harm.

Whatever.

The point is that having ‘signed’ up for three scammy looking enterprises, the flood of spam I initially received has now turned into a deluge.  I’m now definitely one of the

“business opportunity enthusiasts who have invested (…) to learn how to make money using Incentivized Freebie Websites”!!! – as I said here.

Spam

The fact that Bobbie Allen has a 365 day money-back guarantee and a nice Reno address is besides the point.  Myself, Allen, Grants scams, EBay Success schemes, Christian Debt Solutions and Cash For Gold (to name several, but not all);   we are all now intimately connected by email lists which are passed around with gay abandon as proven in the link above to Monica St John’s Project Payday.  A secret once out is no longer a secret, and it’s no good these sites in their ‘policies’ saying spam is forbidden by their affiliates, which they do, because they don’t care.  They’ve got the money;  and the sites, as shown by the connections below, breed like rabbits!  Several have only lasted a week, a week when they can scam a few folk and then bog off.

Links and Query Strings

The connections run very deep.  While Robert Allen is at robertallenmedia.com, it’s accessed by these links from 2 weeks of spam mail relating to various subjects I’ve listed.

Robert Allen doesn’t get linked to by accident, remember.  He is getting money from them and because of that point, he’s as much part of it as anyone.

You’ll see that there are various links back to similar sounding websites,  most of which pointed to grantsforcitizens.org  initially.  All email was sent to the same person ‘Murdon’, an alias I used only once.  Both websites use the annoying helpful popups as you try to close them down, (something that my webhost has started doing so they need telling off )!  The last three are when ‘Murdon’ passed into someone else’s control.   Epic Media Solutions was a common factor in these.  They are listed in the order received;

Robert Miller?

The similarities in this are obvious.  All these addresses (except the last three) redirect to either Robert Allen as shown or else the odious avatar of Robert Miller, terribly concerned about the current financial crisis.  He’s so concerned that he forgot to leave any real USA contacts in any of the T&C links even though it’s all about US grants!  He’s a busy man.  He has buried a statement from LANETE ENTERPRISES LTD WHOSE REGISTERED ADDRESS IS 3, BELL LANE, GIBRALTAR and helpfully makes a teeny comment that the business is subject to the laws of Nicosia in Cyprus!

Author’s Note: if you wish to be subject to the laws of Cyprus but make a claim against someone in Gibraltar regarding US Gov’t Grants – it’s up to you…

Continuing Links

Concurrent with the above, I also signed up to a scheme using the alias, ‘morton House’.  It’s a good idea to use slightly wrong case as it shows that automation has missed it and allows better traceability…  The signup time was about halfway down the above list.

This bunch start with eBay websites featuring an equally obnoxiously cheery avatar purporting to be Michael Green.  It the same financial tale of woe and optimism.  Robert Allen appears again!  It then morphs into Acai shite.

All the above used a new type of string (for me) in their spam.  Like so:

Sometimes this can be very large and references pictures etc

Both Murdon & morton House were sent mail from Citizen Grant Notification. This proves they are accessing the same email lists.  Ressourcehurtcentral.com sent a lot.  They always redirected to which is part of one of the most odious legitimate companies on the world.  Ressourcehurtcentral.com in a web browser calls itself InteractiveMediaSpaces.com and it’s a very soothing, professional-looking space…..  Helpfully, they provide the following comforting sentiment from their office in 73 Greentree Dr Suite #81, Dover, DE 19904

So yes, I actually do believe I received a Niagara of unsolicited mail from them.  When I subscribed I subscribed to different addresses altogether.  I shouldn’t have to unsubscribe!  I shouldn’t be there in the first place!  They can fuck right off with that one if they think I’m going to cut the headers from this pile of crap….

…calm down Reesy!  Check at the bottom of the page…

Oh Yes.  They have a blanket email removal service – right at the fucking bottom!

To globally unsubscribe from all of our lists, send an email to

Well that’s enough on them.  UPDATE:  I did as I was told.  This came back:

The following message to <[email protected]> was undeliverable.
The reason for the problem:

You’ve got to laugh.

These fat fuckers deserve a paragraph or two here. Their two gaffers seem to be involved in the redistribution of wealth from poor people in financial difficulties up to nice middle America Sports College things, Republican Party donations – as well as increasing the physical bulk of the head banker.  See:

How Centennial Credit Card Terms & Conditions actually Redistribute Wealth Upwards!

….you understand that your initial credit limit will be at least $250.00 and the following fees will be billed to your first statement: Annual Fee of $48.00, Account Set-Up Fee of $29.00, Program Fee of $95.00, Monthly Servicing Fee of $7.00, and an Additional Card Fee of $20.00 per card (if applicable).

Well that’s what it says.  So you borrow $250 and are instantly charged $179!

…well not quite.  Many people on phoning FPB claim that the company says it’s never received stuff and thus charge the ‘customer’ another $29 for late payment.  Well that’s okay and fair.

…apart from the internet access fee and the late and overlimit fees?  Yes….

– Because you only have access to $71 from the $250 you think you have after the first month, you may easily go over $250.  Then you are billed $29.  So you re-arrange the credit limit to cover this for which you are charged $25.

This is exactly the trap people fall into.  To borrow $72 you have to pay back $304 which kind-of makes a mockery of the 9.9% APR!!!

It doesn’t stop there though.  If you are credit-worthy, your limit is automatically increased to say, $500.  But don’t forget the $25 credit limit change fee!!!  Ha Ha.

Conclusion

Needless to say, I’m putting the Centennial Credit Card into the ‘No’ pile along with everything else.  In fact, as a special consideration, First Premier Bank of Sioux Falls are going straight down the German Toilet.  I advise everyone to do the same who gets a spam from them like this.   This is my gift to FPB:

Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.

All future spam is going straight in the bin as time’s too short to analyse further.  Thank god for Mailwasher Pro!!  In fact, because FPB are so crap, my well-known bad taste has returned, just for them…

London and Victoria Insurance and Bad Statistics

CTC & Guardian

[amazon-product align=”left” alink=”0000FF” bordercolor=”FFFFFF” height=”240″ region=”uk”]000728487X[/amazon-product]I’m indebted to this week’s CTC newsletter for pointing out an article by Ben Goldacre in the Guardian last Saturday (a week ago).   I’ve used one of Mr Goldacre’s articles before in some presentations I’ve done at work when pointing out the poor and devious ways that good statistics can be presented and the poor data collection and usages that follow.

LV (formerly London & Victoria amongst other  in/ass-urance names), did a survey, badly, and then got a plug on TV to talk about it.

They said it’s got really bad being a cyclist because the accident statistics have gone up.

Now read this link (Perils on the road to PR-reviewed data) and see Mr Goldacre pull the rubbish apart.

Of course, the trouble is that the damage is done.  Comparing the demographics and sheer numerical difference between Saturday Guardian readers and GMTV viewers (lots of children there..) makes the impact of the crap so much worse.  Even the words of the world’s oldest and largest cycling organisation were no avail.

British Judge & Bike Hat Stats

In another nutty bit of legal weaselling,  a case where a cyclist and motorcyclist collided (Smith v Finch 2009), the judge, Mr Justice Griffith Williams, ruled that the cyclist could have been found partly liable if wearing a helmet would have prevented or reduced his or her injuries

On the face of it, this appears sound.  However, the statistics from long-term data collection disprove the efficacy of cycle helmets except for very young children who have large heads relative to their thin, weak necks.

There are a host of reasons why.

But as an example of how statistics could be used in future.

Suppose I crashed in my car and damaged my head.  Using statistics, it can be proven that if I was wearing a helmet in my car, that would have reduced my risk of brain damage and the very same logic of the judge could be applied to me.

It sounds daft, but if everyone in the UK was forced to wear helmets when driving, at least 300 deaths a year would be saved.

But wait!  Many deaths “on the roads” aren’t in cars – they’re pedestrians!!! So really, when you leave the house to pop to the shop, you should wear a crash helmet because another 500 people a year will be saved!  When a car hits a person, the pedestrian’s head nearly always hits the top edge of the windscreen.  Ouch.

Now that’s the power of stupidly using statistics.

And using the judge’s logic, everyone killed walking down the street or mown down at a bus-stop by a car – it’s your fault!!!  (Only 0.7% of hospital admissions for head injury are cyclists involved in road traffic accidents)

Conman ‘barrister’ – but was he any good?

Ian_Clegg The Tale of Two Conmen Barristers

Conman ‘barrister’ who bought robe and wig on eBay jailed for two years

Tea-leaf Ian Clegg here, did the amazing thing here of charging people money to represent them in court.  He did this over a 6-month period and apparently made hundreds of pounds!

In one case for a client,  he wrote a threatening letter to a debtor!  Gosh.

He’s now been locked up for 2 years.

His crime wasn’t the money-making.  Far from it.  No his crime was that he broke the (new, since 2006) law of impersonating a barrister!

He also broke his previous bail conditions for credit card fraud and stuff, which is fair enough.  (Weirdly, if he’d have represented the people as himself, he would have been okay, dependant on the type of court cases he did).

But his real crime, as we know, was that he made the lawyers look stupid.

Sick miners’ lawyers struck off

I can only hope that the similar level of relative penalty is applied to Slytherin Jim Beresford.

Complete and Utter Thieving Twat lawyer Jim Beresford Jovial Jim did the amazing thing of charging people money to represent them in court. (He also charged the government).  He did this over several years and made millions of pounds!

In several cases for clients he wrote threatening letters! Gosh.

He’s now been kicked off the bar.

Apparently, so far, it looks like there’s no crime apart from the long-standing ones of failing his “Duty of Care” and that of being an honourable and decent human being.  (He thinks he’s an entre-preneur).

But his real crime, as we know, is that he’s a greedy twat.

So there we have it – Walter Mitty versus King Midas.  We know King Midas is crap, but no news on whether Walter Mitty actually won money for his clients – and so cheaply too!

People from St Hilda’s Church said they don’t know who to trust anymore.  Well the answer is neither of them, but if you go with Cleggy you don’t come off so badly…

BBC Article Correct! It’s a Record !

Strangely post on November 20th, 2008
Posted in Technology Tags: , , , , , , , ,

Two days ago I read an astonishingly factual and honest article on the BBC Magazine website, called;

Goverment Deficit - which one do you believe? !!The myth of record debt

Author Michael Blastland (who wrote The Tiger That Isn’t: Seeing Through a World of Numbers) explains very well how statistics and their presentation can be used to hide or expose anything the presenter desires!  This is something I’ve mentioned several times in these pages.

Rather than repeat verbatim all Michael has said, just consider these two charts from the web article – they contain the same data !!!

Interested?  Just click the charts for the full article.

In short, he says (and I agree) that the reason that every year we have a new record for something ( overdrafts, debt, borrowings, profits….) is because of inflation.  It’s a natural consequence of increasing money supply.
