This person’s video is remarkably like “The Song of Roland” in it’s feel. This is something I read when I was about 9 years old, along with a host of Norse Saga and Greek & Roman myths and legends. I can’t remember much, specifically, about all the tales, but the whole essence could be said to [...]

A Case of One Man’s Cake is Another Man’s Poison I first read the short story, “The Bureau d’Exchange de Maux” by Lord Dunsany, in the late seventies in a compilation, probably a Panther Books one. It’s staggering simplicity is matched by the masterful telling. View Larger Map Later, in (a sort of) homage, Crawling [...]

Introduction I’ve nabbed the content of this from Ted Penfold. My wife, has told me that she heard this lecture of Dick’s and found it and him some of the most inspiring things in her life. I came across this wonderful piece by chance, looking for some background information on Nikko, the second guy after [...]

I’ve just seen a news article today about a man who’s been locked in a jail for about 30 years and no-one knew where he was! He belongs to the world’s largest democracy, India, and has been jailed in Pakistan since 1973! This is the same Pakistan that George Bush has decided is a friend [...]

…so I looked it up and bizarrely, it IS on youtube with some sort of a video. It’s Mick Ronson doing “The Empty Bed” from his LP “Play, Don’t Worry”. Without checking the sleeve, I think it’s a cover of an Italian or Spanish dudes tune, or possibly Greek. Certainly Mediterranean. I think. Probably. Or [...]

What’s all this Buddhism then, like? Intro I practice the Buddhism of Nichiren Daishonin who was a guy living in 13th century Japan. He is what most people nowadays would call a “good guy” although at the time, because he spoke his mind which then annoyed the ruling classes, he spent most of his life [...]
