File-Sharing Hypocrisy

Copyright Theft Introduction

There are a heap of websites which try and get round international copyright legislation by acting as “pointers” to copyright material, while not actually holding any on their servers.  Pirate  Bay, …and the rest.  Over the last year or two, a heap of copycat sites have sprung up that act as pointers to the “pointer” websites.  Anyone falling on these (usually Russian or Chinese hosted) sites, then has an interminable snakes and ladders of links to navigate to finally arrive at the wanted file.

I know all this because I keep a check on the location of all our Crawling Chaos material as it pops up.!

I’ve also run the gauntlet of potential malware and popups, during which process I came across a popup (again) which demonstrates the mind-thumping hypocrisy of the file-sharing websites.

FilesTube.com

I’d now like to share this particular piece of hypocritical pap with you!  This is on FilesTube.com, (who for the record, prefer to remain anonymous on the internet – see WHOIS here), although the same shite wordage pops up on all of them.  It’s not the band Crawling Chaos, but a track with the same words.  I could have used anything.  They claim to have >38 million files in their “index”.

J’Acuse!

And there we have it..

“Support Us” they plead.

They don’t say, “Support the people who made the music”.  Just, “support us”.

What a bunch of fucking hypocritical thieving bastards.

Pirate Party Confused Privacy

There’s now an official UK Pirate Party.

It’s founded on the guiding principles that all art & creativity should be free for people sat in their bedrooms and that those people in the bedrooms should have absolute privacy!

True.

They want the Swedish model of the convicted file-sharers in the UK.  Also, they want Google StreetView banned as well as all CCTV cameras.

Privacy.

Let’s look at privacy.  (Art theft is now taken for granted by almost everyone and in the present technical world of secret digital information transfer across international borders, this will not and cannot be controlled.  So it’s a fait-accompli.)

But for the low security-savvy downloaders in their bedrooms, they expect privacy in a weird dysfunctional way…

They’ll swallow the mantra of privacy yet open their computer systems to all sorts of malware because most pirate digital materiel is hosted on malware-ridden websites hosted in wholly unsavoury countries.

Now that’s weird!

They expect free broadband access for these ‘services’ but will pay top-dollar for the latest gadget or naff ring-tone.  They’ll also pay for the ‘service’ of downloading ‘free’ copyright materiel as well…

Now that’s weird!

StreetView

Furthermore, the Pirate Party says it’s bad that a StreetView camera car, driving down the public highway can look into the bedrooms of the File Sharers….  er….  have they not heard of curtains?  Do they not realise that glass is two-way?

Real Privacy

Here’s how real privacy works:

  1. Computer:  use a firewall
  2. Net Curtains

    Net Curtains

House: use curtains or a tall fence or wall

Simple?  Innit?

And this is how the Queen keeps prying eyes from her back garden…

Phone Privacy

I’ve just had a call from a woman offering me a government grant for loft insulation….    I asked her,

Who exactly do you work for?

…she then plonked the phone down on me after a little mutter.  However, a 1471 on her produced this phone number:

01702 340105

When I called her back it was busy (presumably trying to con someone else)..!   However, in the UK, without paying for the information, I cannot find the owner of that telephone – In the USA however, there are heaps of services that do just that!

This is another example of the confused idea of “privacy” that the UK has.   It’s crap!

Meanwhile, there’s now a political party lobbying for the right to steal art and the right to be private while doing it!
Here are Richard Stallman’s views on the Pirate Party: How the Swedish Pirate Party Platform Backfires on Free Software

I think the mantra, (paraphrasing the Hippocratic oath) should be:

  • Down-loader, do no harm
  • Camera, do no harm
  • Politician, do no harm

Crawling Chaos File Sharing

Yay.  I’ve spotted another batch of file-sharing websites recently.  Like the cash-cop-out neep-heeds at Pirate Bay (see news item “Cash for Pirate Bay file-sharers” on their cash sell-out - ha,ha, so much for freedom of speech; the real motive has now panned out), these sites don’t host files, they just tell people where to go, give them the keys, and help them open the doors….

Anyway, for avid fans of Crawling Chaos, http://fenopy.com has pots of stuff.  The links go through to http://www.directdownloadpass.com, amongst others.  Any one used to my ramblings on internet fraud will not be surprised to find that the owners of these domains have been hidden – one by US-based namecheap.com and the other by a Singapore outfit called Katz Global Domain Name Trust.

As with all this stuff, the user (ironically) pays to get stuff for free……  (Yes I know – you work it out)

I noticed a 187Mb download as an ISO of the track Gygno.  This means a very high bitrate and good quality.  Presumably they have access to the master tape?  Or are they very good at cleaning up vinyl? Or pumping information out of the low quality MP3 on the Crawling Chaos website?

The question is, is that it takes time to transpose all this stuff.  So how much is their time worth when they ‘give’ our music away for nothing?

I know why I’m doing this – do they know why they’re doing it?

Sex and Death Photos

Sex and Death, Death Sex, Death and Sex, AND the Death of Democracy.

on DVDI’m yet again struck by the rampant hypocrisy from America.  It’s citizens seem to think that everyone in the world has to follow their peculiar mores and morals to the letter, conveniently forgetting that they won’t abide by their own rules written into their own constitution.

David Carradine the actor, on location for a new film, died recently in Thailand, a country noted for it’s strict laws but random enforcement of those laws.  The place executes and imprisons for long terms sex offenders and drug dealers, while at the same time being a magnet for westerners craving these very same things.  Now it wouldn’t be a magnet if these things weren’t easy to get, would it?…

And back to Carradine.  He died in a cupboard from asphyxiation, apparently, although another autopsy is on the way.  It’s reckoned to be suicide or auto-erotic sex gone bad according to gossip.  The same thing happened to UK Tory MP Steven Milligan in 1994, for instance.  A man in London died similarly in February this year with a gas mask…

Then the Thai’s published the cupboard photo (see link).  It could only have been a police photo so it’s obvious from that and my commentary above that the police are very ‘flexible’ in their working practices in Thailand.

n.b. However, all may not be what it seems…compare the cupboard photo to the interiors of Carradine’s hotel, the Swissotel Nai Lert Park Hotel.  It’s not so clear-cut that the cupboard photo is genuine in my view…

Now another photo has surfaced (see link) of an aged, tattooed man on a slab, chest stitched up in the fashion of all good autopsies.  By all accounts, it’s probably David Carradine’s body.  But who knows?

Shock and Horror

Mais Quel horreur!  We are now witnessing a media storm of protest about this apparent violation of a dead man.  This, apparently is beyond the pale.  Pictures of a dead actor, whatever next?  ( However, graphic pictures of anyone else is okay, apparently! )

Just compare and contrast these photos below, mostly taken by Americans of American citizens, many broadcast in the US media not long after their creation.

The apparent outrage at the Carradine indescretion is in stark contrast to already existing photographs of celebrities and more worryingly, of US torture which have been deemed by Obama and everyone else to be ‘not good for the national interest’.  The US is also a haven for swathes of internet porn of the most bestial descriptions as well as most of the world’s spam and other crap.

But it’s all cash in the bank for private enterprise, hiding under the umbrella of freedom of speech,  isn’t it?  So, compare and contrast, photos of dead presidents, dead actors, dead popes, dead politicians – and tortured people, tortured by your own citizens.

Which are worst?  Get your priorities right!
